Water treatment can be divided in two different technology groups :
Waterleau can provide both types of technology depending on the characteristics of the effluent and the client's needs.

What are membranes and what are they used for ?
Membranes = | (porous) selective barriers that will pass some substances and will retain others |
In process water production applications and in wastewater treatment the substance to be passed (permeate or filtrate) is water. The substance to be retained (concentrate or retentate) can be very much dependent on the application.
The driving force (delta P) for the separation is generally a pressure gradient.
There are four different types of filtration to be considered :

Filtration spectrum : for the different types of filtration the retained particles and their size are indicated
Waterleau offers a complete range of membrane-based products:
AQUALITY®: micro- and ultrafiltration.
EXSEL®: nanofiltration and reverse osmosis.
WATER-ON-THE-ROCKS®: small-scale drinking water production units.
Ion exchange and other traditional technologies have their merits and are still used in many applications worldwide. Waterleau is able to offer these technologies worldwide.
