Many production, transformation and packaging processes generate : toxic gases, droplets of all sizes, corrosive, toxic and plugging dusts.
production, storage and packaging of basic chemical compounds fluidized beds, dryers and coolers used in the production of fertilizers, sugars, lucern and urea>degassing of reactors in fine chemistry and pharmacy burning liquids in the chemical an pharmaceutical industry metallurgy and iron and steel industries treatment of SO2 lime kilns, paper waste degreasing and chroming baths, preparation and metallizing surfaces
For all these applications WATERLEAU France analyses the operating parameters and recommends the proper processes while fulfilling all legal obligations.
ESOFIL processes using specific venture and swirl-type dust collectors ("TURBULAIRES®") for dust and solid-particle collection e.g. ZnO, NH4NO3
WATERLEAU France has standardized its ESOFIL units in order to treat flows from 1.000 to 200.000 m3/h. These units can be made in different types of material (PVC, PPH, PVDF, SVR, Inox, ...) according to the requested fabrication quality. This standardization allows WATERLEAU France to propose the solution best adapted to the cleint's requirements.
Three types of gas-solid separation processes :
The TURBULAIRE® is a wet scrubber for gas flows up to 400.000 Nm3/h.
The TURBULAIRE® scrubber consists of a vertical cylindrical shell with conical top and conical hopper at the lower end. It is divided into two chambers : the agglomerator chamber and the eliminator chamber.
The agglomerator chamber is in the lower portion of the scrubber and includes the hopper containing the scrubber liquid bath, the gas inlet passage with conical throttle and the liquid level regulating assembly.
The eliminator chamber is above the agglomerator chamber and consists of a set of swirl vanes and a sump preceeding the gas outlet.
The gas inlet is located radially on the side of the shell and the gas outlet at the top center.
Spray nozzles located on top of the peripheral chamber are installed at regular intervals so as to humidify the entire annular volume. Through an external common inlet, the scrubbing liquid is distributed to the nozzles by means of an internal manifold, integrated into the shell.

Of all the air pollution abatement technologies, wet scrubbing systems remain the most versatile and cost efficient. Venturi scrubbers are particularly effective at removing particles from 1 to 100 µm at very high efficiencies. New, patented advances in venturi scrubbing of air particulates, aerosols and gases achieve removal efficiencies greater than 99 % for particulate and aerosols down to 3 µm. At the sub-micron zone, the principle of venturi scrubbing forces the contact of the particle with fine water droplets. Sub-micron particles present a special concern because they cause irritation of the breathing passages and may, more importantly, include toxic and/or odorous compounds. Various designs of venturi scrubbers are available. The REITHER® system venturi scrubber is the new generation of venturi scrubbing.
The REITHER® Venturi scrubber is designed for efficient separation of the finest dust aerosols. It is equipped with an adjustable throat cross section which maintains a constant pressure drop across the throat and therefore a constant separation efficiency, independent of flow rate fluctuation.
Developed in association with Bayer, the Bayer-REITHER® venture scrubber includes hybrid nozzles to atomize the scrubbing liquid. This scrubber achieves high efficiency separation of sub-micron dusts with a low pressure drop. It can also be used as a gas absorber.
